Note: the series ‘La Guerre’ is not a celebration of war but the exact opposite – this text illustrates the artist’s sense of irony.

1905 is the year Kurt Eggers was born, not the publication of the text. Von Kampf und Krieg (Struggle and War) was published around 1940. Eggers was killed on the Russian front in 1943.
