From a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen about a tin soldier’s love for a paper ballerina. In the story two boys find the soldier, place him in a paper boat, and set him sailing along the gutter. The tin soldier is washed into a storm drain and after a series of adventures he finds himself on a table top before the ballerina. He is thrown into the fire, then a wind blows the ballerina into the fire with him. In the morning a maid finds that the soldier has melted into a little tin heart along with the ballerina’s spangle.
